I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience within the NHS, including 11 years as a consultant clinical psychologist leading a specialist CAMHS service for children with a learning disability.
I obtained my degree in psychology from Wolverhampton University before proceeding to obtain a Master of Science in Psychology at Reading University and then completing my practitioner Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Leicester University. Since then I have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Neuropsychology from University College London.
In addition to the above I have completed a wide range of clinical and leadership training including: Foundation training in systemic and family therapy; ADOS & ADOS-2 training; I am a trained Portage worker and previously completed a number of clinical leadership courses.
I specialise in the assessment and treatment of children and young adults with learning disabilities and neuro-developmental conditions such as learning disability, autism, adhd, dyslexia.
I am fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a Chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), I am also a Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) with membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology and the Division of Neuropsychology. I am a registered member of the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice (AChiPPP).
I hold Enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (DBS).
Aside from my direct clinical work, I have extensive experience of working with staff teams, schools, residential organisations and other care providers. Previously, I have supported a range of organisations including: South Staffordshire and Shropshire NHS Foundation Trust, Midland Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Shropshire Community NHS Trust, Isle of Man Government (Department of Education, Sport and Culture; Department of Health), independent and academy schools across the West Midlands area. I currently supervise NHS staff and support school settings.
I provide a range of training directly to staff teams, to parents and carers, to organisations and am a visiting lecturer at UCL, Birmingham and Coventry universities.
I undertake medico-legal assessments across the UK for family, civil and criminal cases and have also completed Bond Solon expert witness training.
